The three convenor organisations of the 18th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) made their first inspection visit to Macao on October 25th and 26th 2024, conducting venue inspection, convening organisers' meetings and WCEC convenor meeting in preparation for the upcoming convention. The host organisation, Macao Chamber of Commerce, led by President Chui Sai Cheong warmly received the delegation group led by Jonathan Choi, President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, Kho Choon Keng, President of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Narongsak Putthapornmongkol, President of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
The host Macao Chamber of Commerce, President Chui Sai Cheong, along with President of the board of directors Frederico Ma Chi Ngai, Vice President Chui Yuk Lam, Lam Kam Seng, U Kin Cho, Lao Ngai Leong, Ho Fu Keong, Sio Chi Wai, Mok Chi Wai, Chan Chak Mo, and other standing committee members and directors, totaling over 30 people, attended the first preparation meeting. Following the meeting, the delegation proceeded to inspect the two main venues, The Venetian Macao Convention and Exhibition Center and the Galaxy International Convention Center. As well as proposed delegation's tour of The Venetian Macao's back of house area and other business facilities. On the evening of October 25th , Macao Chamber of Commerce hosted a welcome dinner for the delegation group.
On the morning of the 26th, WCEC convenor meeting was held and during the conclusion of the meeting, the WCEC convenor organisations expressed high approval of Macao as next year's host city and was confident that Macao's quality venues and facilities would attract enthusiastic participation from Chinese entrepreneurs worldwide. All parties looked forward to further deepening cooperation next year and enriching the content of the 18th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention.
WCEC convenor delegation participating in this first preparatory meeting include: Jonathan Choi, President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, Vice President Andrew Yao, External Affairs Committee Chairman Dennis Yip, Secretary General Yvonne Yeung, and Assistant Secretary General Connie Poon; Kho Choon Keng, President of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Immediate Past President Roland Ng, Technology Committee Chairman Ng Kian Ming, Commerce & Industry Committee Chairman Chia Kim Huat, and Secretary General Lin Fuyu; Narongsak Putthapornmongkol, President of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Vice Presidents Li Guixiong and Xiao Hanming, and Executive Deputy Secretary General Lin Jianan.
During the visit, Wildred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., and Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group, separately received the delegation for in-depth discussions regarding the convention.
